Dr Crippen was tried and sentenced to death for the murder of his wife. Dr Crippen was caught after he boarded a ship bound for Canada with his mistress Ethel le Neve. The Captain recognised the doctor and sent a radio message from the ship. Dr Crippen was modelled by Madame Tussaud's grandson. Jack, who took photographs during the trial with a camera hidden beneath his bowler hat. The figure has been on display ever since. Dr Crippen was hanged in 1910.
