John Reginald Halliday Christie murdered seven women in total including his own wife. He hid the remains of the last three victims in a tiny recess behind his kitchen wall at 10 Rillington Place, where he lived in west London. Christie was only caught after he left the house. A new tenant, whilst cleaning the kitchen, tore away a small piece of paper from the wall and peered inside revealing the terrible secret that lay there. Christie confessed to all the murders except that of the baby daughter of one of his victims. He can be seen at Madame Tussaud's "taking the drop" at the hands of the famous executioner Albert Pierrepoint in Pentonville prison on 15th July 1953.
